Detroit, MI
This was the first time I had the opportunity to see MTX. I can't even describe it. It was just that magical! Let's see...from the beginning... my mom dropped me off at the show, by myself, (yes, I'm just *that* cool) over half an hour early. I didn't have a ticket and wanted to make damn sure that I'd get in. As I soon realized, that wasn't too much of an issue. When I got there, there were only a couple other groups of people waiting. (On an ironic note, I later became best friends with a member from each of these groups (at different times), both of whom now hate my guts...ah...my extreme popularity...its inescapable!) Anyway...after huddling in the cold for a little while I started talking to the one group of people, and they were all really nice. (For purposes of the story, we'll pretend I
didn't tell you that they later stopped speaking to me.) Finally, the club opened the doors. It was definately one of the greatest nights in my life. Not only did I see my absolute favorite band for the first time, but I even got the courage to talk to them! (More pretending...we'll ignore the fact that I acted even more retarded around them than usual...it was still
great.) I don't remember many details of the show, but I just get this amazing feeling every time I think about it. After the show I loitered around for as long as the security people would tolerate, then left. Joel was even so nice as to wait with me outside while I waited for my mom!
