Minneapolis, MN

Wow, my last show of the tour. Always a rather depressing night. But really fun nonetheless. Kelley and I got to Minneapolis without any trouble, and actually ended up being there pretty early. The doors were supposed to be at 4, but they got moved back. The club was really huge! Pretty neat place though. When we arrived, Frank was playing a trivia game. He kept getting the high score, of course. Later on I was talking to Joe and Frank and Joe was complimenting Frank on being such a great song writer. Then he brought up the idea again about how he and Frank should write a song together called, "Another Stupid Song About Another Stupid Girl." How great would that be! I just hope they follow through on it.

Not too much later they opened the doors. Kelley and I stayed backstage with the Parasites for a long time, but then I went to look for my friend Ben (mentioned in previous show stories I think). I found him, but it was crowded and he was looking for his brother, so I just went backstage again. The Parasites asked me to sell their merch during their set, I had Kelley do it though because I wanted to go watch up front. Unfortunately, that left me stuck taking pictures for them! I'm so bad at taking pictures and I really hate it. They made me do it anyway though.

When they were about ready to start playing, I went and set up Dennis' tape recorder, then went down front to watch. I ran into Ben on the way, so he came with me. Unfortunately, all these kids started pushing, argh! Some obnoxious kid on the side was heckling Dave too. It was quite annoying. Other than that, it was really great. After they played I went to talk to them, then to talk to Kelley. MTX started setting up pretty quickly, so I found Scott to sell the Parasites' merch, then went to get a spot for MTX. I didn't want to risk getting my ass kicked, so I stood in front of the barrier for safety. The security guard gave me a hard time at first, but when I told him Frank said it was okay, he left me alone.

MTX were great! They even played "Somebody Who Cares" at my request. I was happy 'cause they hadn't played it all tour, and weren't sure if they were going to this time. There were some stupid kids heckling MTX (imagine that!) and yelling for the Queers. The Queers are great and all, but come on, how could you not want to see MTX?!

Next up were the Queers, who were really great. Most of the time I watched from the area next to the stage, since I didn't have the guts to get crushed by the crowd. Afterwards I talked to Ben again, but he had to get going pretty quick. I was kind of disappointed, but oh well.

All too soon it was time for everyone to go. I said goodbye to Geoff and Joe since the Queers were the first to leave. Then I went outside. I said bye to Frank (which always depresses me so much, especially since it'll be a long time before I see them again), then went to talk to the Parasites. Joel and Jym came over to say goodbye (also quite depressing), and it sort of started to sink in that they were leaving! Ah! They took off, and then the Parasites decided to go too. Kel and I said bye to them all, then walked back to the car. I was kind of bummed out that I had to leave everyone, but at the same time I was extremely happy because I'd just had the greatest week. Definitely worth the trip. Ten or so hours and one trip to the police station later, I arrived home.
